Lucky us! All our worries left behind – this is a GREAT place – wonderful experience – wonderful fire!
Enjoyed the afternoons over-looking the valley and spying the fat brown wombat eating below.
Thank you very much.
We love it here, XXX

The perfect hideaway for a few lovely tranquil days R&R.
The boys (Buddy & Shadow – black labs) had a fantastic time – we took them to the beach & they were both like children running around & racing into each other.
Plenty of wine & food with a toasty warm fire.
Thank you for opening this beautiful haven up for us!
Cheers, Janine, Chris, Buddy & Shadow
25-27 April 2008
Our third visit to Woodruff & we finally saw the wombats – not one but two & on both nights! What a treat!
The star-filled sky, beautiful birds tweetering & crisp mornings – it’s always nice to come back to this part of the world.
And to top it off, I finally beat Michael at scrabble!
Karina & Michael, Canberra

We’re back again – our third visit!
We actually saw Wally the Wombat this time. We love the view and the peace and quiet.
If people keep coming back then that speaks volumes.
Now back to the retrace

You don’t often get the chance to live a dream, thank you for making one of ours come true.
Love the cabin, love the area and love the view.
The internet photos can not compare to the reality of the place. We had the most relaxing and romantic break ever.
I just can’t find the right words to express just how impressed we were with our stay.
Ivan & Danielle, Canberra
PS. Saw the Wombat.
15-19 February 2008
Thank you for a wonderful stay. The cottage was small, but perfectly formed, but perfectly clean.
And those views, to die for.
Many Thanks,
Mark, Don & Ella
15-21 January 2008
We had the most fantastic time in this quaint, romantic cottage.
It was a very peaceful and idealic setting we even had the log fire place on at night in the rain.
Our baby Levi (Standard English Bull Terrier) had his 1st holiday with us and loved every minute sniffing exploring and watching the kangaroo’s.
Thank you once again.
Vanessa, Angelo and Levi, Beacon Hill, Sydney
(From Levi) Mum even got a diamond ring – very romantic indeed and she said yes
23-26 November 2007
We were very fortunate to meet mum wombat & her youngster on the first night foraging around the tree stump in front of the deck.
Canoeing on Brogo Dam was a highlight as the dam was full to capacity and teeming with wildlife – a very beautiful place.
The scenery is awesome & Mumbulla Falls is a special place. The cabin, its location & serenity calmed our hectic lives.
Thank you for a great weekend on our first wedding anniversary!
A special man to share this time in a special place!
Nicki & Kevin McKenna, Canberra
19-21 October 2007
We’ve thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We tried very hard to eat every piece of wombat poo, but eventually gave up and thought we’d leave some for the next lot of four legged visitors. Mr Wombat chomped his way around the cottage both evenings – we watched from the deck with great interest.
Many thanks,
Nutmeg (cocker spaniel)
Hugo (Labrador)
And many many thanks from me too, Kara

What a magical place. It has been a privelage to be here. We are re-juvenated & ready to face the ‘madness’ again.
Hoping to return again soon & bring the ‘kids’.

4-5 September 2007
What a lovely spot! We were so relaxed here, with the log fire, the beautiful view, the bush and the animals. We saw the wombat last night, quite a few wallabies and heard boobook owls & sugar sliders down in the forest at night.
Thankyou for providing such a cosy and homely place to stay. We’ll probably be back but hopefully for longer next time!
Amber & Simon – Brisbane

Thank you this is the most romantic spot in the world. Can I be the first to say and hopefully not alone, that it’s the best place for a “dirty” weekend away.
PS. The bed is a classic
PS. The husband and I shall return with the four legged child next time.

Woodruff is Fantastic!! We loved every moment, it was so relaxing being away from the rat race. I can’t believe how quickly the days went while we did absolutely nothing, time flys when your having fun!:)
We saw the resident wombats nearly every night and our daughter Bindi (staffy) could not get enough. She waited patientally on the back deck every night just to let it know she was still here. Thank you for a lovely week and making this beautiful cottage available to people with children of the four laggard kind! We are planning our return trip as I write this.
Cirsti, Trevor & Bindi THANK YOU!!
7-12 March 2008
We spent many weeks researching dog friendly accommodation and finally chose Woodruff. What an excellent choice. Being retirees we thought we knew what relaxation was all about, but Woodruff takes relaxation to a whole new level. The solitude, the silence (broken only by bird song) and the starry nights – what an eclectic mix. The cabin is perfect, met all our needs. The dogs were also enchanted and our Doberman – for once in her life – was silenced by the calm atmosphere. Woodruff is something everyone should experience at least once in a lifetime.
Lyn & Suzanne Jones, Canberra
PS. Saw the wombat, but thankfully no snake.
30 July – 3 August 2007

When the day to day working world gets you down, Woodruff is just the place to let go of the stress that one builds up.
An absolutely wonderfull four days of doing nothing but explore, walk, read and just relax & sleep.
Will, Tran, Patches & Reji, Canberra
This is a magic place. Magic was performed here. I came as a frazzled, stressed out woman with a small dog (Stella) and left 6 days later with new energy and a large dog (inside the small one). Thank you Woodruff.
We saw a pair of eagles within 20 minutes of arriving and it just kept getting better. We saw the fabled wombat and yes he’s huge! Each night around dusk we went onto the balcony and looked down. We saw him twice and heard them most nights. Scary if you don’t know what it is and you are a city dog seeing your first wombats, kangaroos, wallabies etc.!!
By the way, when you are busy looking down for the wombat, just look up and you’ll see the bats giving an aerial display worth watching. Once it’s dark you’ll also see the Milky Way as nature intended. It’s magic. I tell ya its magic! Arienne & Stella, Canberra.
We’re actually back again, third visit. We finally saw Wally the Wombat this time. We love the view and the peace and quiet. If people keep coming back that speaks volumes. Now back to the rat race…. Derek, Linda and Toby the Boxer.Thank you for allowing us to stay in your beautiful rustic cottage. The scenery and privacy was heavenly. We enjoyed watching the DVD's every night by the scorching fire. Most of all, it was a special treat to meet the resident wombat who kept us company out the front of the cottage near the tank. A truly great escape, and a place you can call a home away from home. Thanks again for 3 great nights! Steve & Giovanna, Melbourne
Relaxed – drank wine, ate cheese next to a roaring fire. Breakfast in the sun admiring the view. Don’t want to go back to work tomorrow! Thank for making it a lovely weekend. H & D Canberra PS did not see the famous wombat!
This stay was a birthday present from my love. 1st night it was calm and starry. No sound but there was still a loud hum in my ears. (from city background noise, I guess). Next day we took a canoe on Brogo Lake, went right on up to where Brogo River feeds into lake. Halfway back we both realized the “buzz” in our ears had gone (ah!! That’s what I call peaceful serenity. The dogs had a great time. Good thing we had them on the leads last night as a wombat bolted across right in front of us, just down the road from the cottage. Poppy and Bindi were keen, but I think the wombat might have done some damage – he was huge! Thanks from all four of us. PS sometimes the greatest action is non-action. I & S, Thirroul + Poppy & Bindi.
In the peaceful dusk of our last evening here Enjoying the view with an ice-cold beer Thinking back on adventures and things we have seen ‘Woodruff’ is one of the best places we’ve ever been! We wanted a holiday with our best mate ‘Sam’ Where we could relax and get in touch with the land Well we saw it all here, ‘roos’, wombats and more, Birds, birds and more birds – well birds galore! - restless fly catchers, yellow rumped thornbills, Honeyeaters, finches and the great wedge tailed eagle… But the most beautiful bird we saw from the water - yes a canoe trip on the dam is something you oughta on glassy waters as we paddled past two azure kingfishers darting fast violet blue with a striking orange belly ‘only the lucky few see them’, they tell me So thanks ‘Woodruff’ for the pleasure it has been And for a real top spot J & C and Sam – Jamberoo NSW
Glorious views, cute cottage and the only sounds were those of a thousand butterfly wings – just lovely.
D & J, WahroongaWell.... where do you even start to explain the Beauty of a place like this. So many people before us have enjoyed this slice of heaven that you have made available for all to experience. The atmosphere, the views, the location, the warmth of the cottage.... all this combined with the company I have experienced it with.... words can only do so much to explain. Thank you. We are better for all the experiences shared L & N and Reggie
Awesome place to celebrate all that we needed to. We will be back Thank you J & M
What a great place! Perfect. M & J and Izzy
The perfect place for RNR. Just what we needed. For all who like to fish, highly recommend Narooma Charters- A great day!! J & C - Sydney
Had a very lovely five days. Views to die for, didn't think we would be lighting fires 3 days out of 5 in Summer. Made the holiday so much more relaxing. Louie loved the lizards and the wombat who we saw just after dark. The rain made us experts at Dog-opoly and beer and wine what more could we ask for J & M and Louie
